Exemplar’s corporate headquarters is located in Kansas City, MO. We currently have a part or full time position for a Perl / Mason Application Architect. Responsibilities: Lead technical planning, design and implementation of assigned engineering initiatives; Successfully translate business requirements into technical specifications and finished products/services; Assist in Quality Assurance as needed; Create and maintain high-quality documentation of all relevant specifications, systems, and procedures; Provide mentoring and training for junior staff; Required skills: Excellent knowledge of OO Perl; 4+ years of experience in web site and software application development in UNIX/LINUX environment; Solid understanding of relational databases; Excellent knowledge of CVS; In-depth experience with Linux/UNIX and desire to work with Open Source technology; Thorough knowledge of Apache and mod_perl; Proficiency in JavaScript and CSS; Experience with shell scripting; Strong (Perl) programming and software design and development skills; Working knowledge of HTML, HTTP, SSL, TCP/IP, DNS and other applicable protocols and technologies; Bachelors degree in Computer Science or related field or equivalent experience is required; Project Management and life cycle development experience; Strong communication and problem solving skills.
