Anyone have any problems getting the Seagate 1.3G drive working with the
new SS10/41 and its SCSI-2 interface. Will this let the drive opperate at
10MB/sec speeds (or is the 1.3 not a SCSI-2 drive)? On a similar note -
we are planning to buy the new Seagate differential 2.1G drive from Sun,
any problems with this drive and the SS10/41? It should run at 10MB speeds,
   right?

   Thanks in advance.

We upgraded our SS2 to a 10/30, and moved our Seagate 1.3G and 2.1G
drives to it.. our 1.3G drives support only 5Mb/s, but there is a
10Mb/s model too. The 1.3 drives are at the internal 10Mb/s controller,
the 2.1 10Mb/s drives are at an 'old' Sun 5Mb/s SCSI controller, we
are waiting for a 10Mb/s controller.

We just plugged the disks to the backplane.. and they worked right away.
We have quite a lot of cable at the internal controller, mixing Sun cables
and cheap flat grey ribbon cable, the terminator is passive external.

Maybe we will run into trouble if we put any 10Mb/s devices on this
bus.. but now it works.
